English freshman Clelie Ancelet uses her hibiscus-printed bike as her main mode of transportation - although at first, it wasn't her choice. The Lafayette native's father traded in her car to get a car of his own, leaving Ancelet bike-bound. But nowadays, she doesn't seem to mind: "It's so cute," she says of her ride. "It's so ... Barbie."
The black and pink checkerboard pattern on music performance sophomore Amanda Noelle Neal's bike is her own work. When she worked in a bike shop in her native Sacramento, she made it a goal to one day have an entirely pink bike.
Music industry studies senior Braden Piper sports a metallic blue Fuji brand bike, with the silhouette of European racing models. Piper rides his bike frequently, and has only encountered one major setback: "Riding in the snow (in December) was not fun."
Whitney Radosti, biology freshman, rides an Electra cruiser bike. The bright blue and pearl-white paint updates the retro-inspired model.
